December 2024 Update
Hi, poetry lovers!
Here we are at the start of another winter, and I’m reminded of last winter—the last with my sweet kitty cat Spart. We knew pretty early on in the season that it would be Spart’s last winter. And it was a mild one here in Minnesota. I kept telling Carlos that the universe wanted to make sure Spart wasn’t too cold for his last winter.
I miss him every day, though there is a relief that he’s no longer in pain. Carlos and I have also been sleeping better than we have in years (Spart was a little night howler). We’re hopeful for this winter. That it won’t be as hard as last year or winters past.
I’m thinking a lot about the idea of turning. How the winter months, for many, are a time to turn inward. For the next few months, I want to turn toward my home—creating within it a mentally, emotionally, and spiritually safe space. I’m still figuring out what that looks like, especially spiritually. If there are any witches out there reading this, I’m open to any advice and tips!
What are you turning toward this winter?
Free Palestine.
With love,
Kait Quinn
